In AGS.

Yesterday, I saw Carlos, my former boyfriend. He's back from Canada, where he spent six months. He returned to Mexico on May 1st, and to Aguascalientes on the 5th.

Ave and I were going to watch a play, but an appointment with her doctor made it not possible, so the three of us went to eat sushi.

Carlos brought me a Joe Phillips book! It is Cali Boys. He did not know about Joe or his work, but when he saw the book, he knew I would like it (and I do, it is awesome). It is so inspiring, I wanna draw more already (n_n). Yes, draw.

Next Sunday, there's a lunch party for him, organized by Antonieta and Susana (not my house-mate, the other one).

BTW...

"Cinco de Mayo" is not Mexico's most important party/ holiday!

It's not even a free day from work (it is from school).

This was when Mexico won a battle in Puebla, but it is not all that big of a deal.

Important holidays would be September 15th-16th (start of the War of Independence), or November 20th (start of the Revolution War).

Who started the rumor that la Batalla de Puebla was the most important Mexican party, I don't know.

But it is not.

Friday.

Cecilia de la Rosa's birthday!

Had a pool party at a friend's "country house". It started at noon (free days for mexican schools and a few mexican jobs; not mine, mind you, I have USA holidays). I arrived after 18:30, but there was still some party left to enjoy.

There was a lot of fun, and some drunks, too (not me, though, I do not like alcohol).

That night I learned braces and blow jobs don't mix well (T_T).

Saturday.

Went to the bank in the morning. Óscar (my flat-mate, not my brother) and his girlfriend gave me a ride.

After noon, we went to a swimming pool (I wore the exact same clothes as I did the day before, heheheh). I had time to play some Final Fantasy IX before that, though. We picked Taiwanese food at Sofi's before going, but then we were so full we had to rest for a long time. When we noticed it, it was already 16:00, so we just had one hour and a half to swim. Water was so hot, though, that I didn't feel much like swimming, and just stayed motionless in the water, hahahaha. It was like being in the bathtub. I hate hot water... Heat drains all my energy... Cold re-energizes me!

Ave Alejandra and I wanted to watch "La Cama", this years play presented by La Columna, a theater troop. We arrived only half an hour before the show, because we were late due to various reasons. By that time, the line to enter was so large... We decided to go see another play, "Decir Adiós", in el Teatro Morelos, one block away from la Casa de la Cultura. We will watch La Cama on wednesday. This play had the actors doing acrobatics, and flying with cables above the public (n_n).

After the play, we went to el Cuarto de Arriba, a café I really dig. We stayed there talking and relaxing. Oh, and we met Carlos Ernesto there, you may remember him as my former boyfriend. He looked very happy (n_n), so I am happy for him.

We then walked home (during la Feria, it is better to simply walk if you can, because it takes so long to get a free cab).

Sunday.

Went to Sunday Mass.

Stayed playing a lot of Final Fantasy IX. I love it! I have been collecting blue magic with Quina. I just arrived to the first moogle inside Cleyra (I hate not knowing if I am using the correct original names for places, since I have not played this in Japanese).

I have liked every character so far. Even NPCs are so lovable! The Queen looks straight out of a fairy tale (the real ones, with menacing enemies, but with cool illustrations). The plot begins to show its dark colors (but a lot of colors, nonetheless).

The first disc was kind of short, but ended with our first look at Kuja, who you start seeing more and more on disc two. He's got a waist and hips that would make more than one guy horny (and het ones, I mean). I liked his hair on the first movie clip, when he leaves the defeated party.

I was supposed to clean the house, but I will do it today (n_n).

BTW, Iron Man started showing on April 30th, but it would start on the morning (it is Día del Niño, Children's Day). Since there was no midnight showing (you know I love those), there was no point in going the first day, nor the first weekend, because it would be full of people who don't really care about Tony. Ave and I will go next Tuesday.

Final Fantasy IX.

So good...

I am so really loving this game. Final Fantasy IX may end up doing what none other could, taking the place of Final Fantasy V as my favorite game of the series!

It is so funny, entertaining, and so full of fantasy themes (n_n).

Zidane reminds me of pre-Gambit Remy LeBeau (okay, he reminds me of Gambit now, too), because he's always flirting and has some kind of likable arrogance, but he always tries to help (and not only himself, as Remy might have done from time to time). A funny part was when he asks Garnet about a cruise trip, forgetting he had in fact invited another girl (of course, she realized this).

I now have Quina, so I can start learning blue magic. I love blue magic! Well, perhaps I do love the collecting part of blue magic more than blue magic itself, but still, I like it.

I am also happy because I ordered "The Art of Final Fantasy IX" from Amazon a few days ago. Every comment about it stresses the fact that this is a very complete art book, meaning that all of the monsters, all of the locations, all of the events, all of the equipment, all of the vehicles and all of the characters are included! You surely know how this is a fan-artist's heaven! No more not being able to draw those secondary characters, now I will be able to draw anyone I want (n_n).

It will arrive to Rodrigo's house in Shelton, and Daniela will bring it to me when she comes back to Aguascalientes. In June...

X-Men Legends II.

I got my X-Men Legends II game today.

Rodrigo, my former operational leader, brought it from the USA.

I just saw the intro and started the first battle during the petit-déjeuner (chocolate muffin).

I wanna get my choice of heroes.

I am still unsure who to use. Iceman is a must, and Rogue, especially when I get her AoA costume.

I do want to try Wanda for a while, and Gambit (Jubilee, Rogue, Iceman and Gambit being my team on the first X-Men Legends, I should try others, but I love these four so much). X-Man sounds good, since he was powerful and sexy (and was doomed to die by 21 (T_T)). He was friends with Peter Parker, too.

Magneto, Cable and Cannonball is cool, too.

Je dois planifier mon week-end. I may go watch one or two plays, mais je n'ai pas regardé le programme des activités de la foire. Y eso que los tengo desde hace más de una semana (T_T).

Plans.

Miriam will come next week to Aguascalientes, to go to la Feria.

She has also been trying to convince me to move to Spain with her. And yesterday she managed it.

The plan would be to go there around September 2009. I think it is an interesting move, and that this is the time for it (I would not have wanted it if she had told me last year).

I would have thought I would go to Ireland, Canada, England, Germany or France, and Spain would not be in my initial choices (too much like Mexico, when you want to get something radically different). But being there would be a great experience, anyway, and it would allow us to visit most of Europe (n_n).

Let's see how plans advance from here.

BTW, I saw Érika M. M. yesterday. She called me and then visited me. It was cool. But for a few moments my mind was all like I'd hear about a child I knew nothing about (however impossible that may have been). I was just like in an imagination craze, hahahaha. Imagine that, right after deciding to live in Europe, you're told you have a kid (X_x).

RPGs + Swords!

Who cares about the fair*, anyway?

The games I was expecting for next friday (my former operational leader would bring them to me then) arrived today (he sent them with a friend who came to Mexico).

I will become a hermit now, I want to play them!

I started Final Fantasy II this weekend, trying to finish it before friday, but I guess I will have to play it only when I am not home (it is on my portable PlayStation).

I also played some Dragon Warrior VII and Final Fantasy X last night. I have played Dragon Warrior VII a lot, but still wanted to get a few more hours there (and get all monster classes on Gabo), and I am close to beating Final Fantasy X (I just sent Seymour). Final Fantasy XII was next on the list, but now it has been sent back.

I want to play Final Fantasy IX! I simply love everything I know about it (it is not much, I try not to spoil things for myself). Lots of guys here have made it clear they would prefer other Final Fantasies, but that only convinces me this is going to be great (focusing on what makes the game good, IMO, and not on movie clips).

I also got Final Fantasy VIII and Chrono Cross, both of which I saw when my brother played them. They will be played sometime in the future.

And I got Dragon Quest Swords, which I will play with Héctor's Wii. I hope he gets to like it, too. I will get more people into Dragon Quest, or else! Matt, you gotta like this game!

I am so excited, hadda try a bad performance of "I'm sick and gotta go home" for my project leader, who just smiled and said "I had to leave the games here, to make sure I had some rest", hahahahaha.

Fire!

Yesterday, el Cerro del Muerto (Hill of the Dead Man) was on fire. During the day you could see the smoke, and when I went back home in the night you could actually see the fire (looked kind of cool, but it was not nice).

According to the firemen, they will be able to completely control it by noon today.

Feria.

Today is the first day of la Feria de San Marcos 2008.

People wait for this all year long. Mostly to go get drunk.

I am kind of excited about it because of the cultural events. Today I will go to the final rehearsal of a play where some friends act (from the group I took classes in).

I like all the plays that I see during the fair.

Last night, Adameck, Juan Gabriel and I went to this merendero, the only one I like in Aguascalientes.

I ate a lot, and drank 4 Sprites. But I went to sleep at 2:00, so I will be somewhat drowzy today...

I don't remember if I already said this, but since last wednesday, I am working on my new project, with Gerardo "Gerry, el Coyote" Sánchez, and Roberto Carranza. It is cool because I already knew both.

The Grind Stone.

I have been reading old posts at Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir's forum, The Grind Stone's fan-art thread, from back when I "was not" gay.

I can't believe I was ever that dumb, heheheheheh. I just talked with Susana some hours ago about some dumb things I did when I was a high school senior, age 16, but it seems I was not much better when I just turned 23 (T_T).

And this was just a few months before my first time (n_n). A hug for this first time person, wherever he may be, because he was so patient and taught me quite a few things (besides being cute and hot, as well, even if he still has the Pokémon Perfect Album I lent him, until I am rich enough to travel the world and go collect it back).

I wanna offer another apology to Dazzler. I was just in a phase, you know. Had to act all macho (n_n). But I was cute acting macho, I swear (n_n).

As you may notice if you go into that fan art thread, the pics I linked directly off the oekaki board get deleted as more pictures are drawn, so you cannot see the old pics there.

I uploaded them to a server, but it is down now, and I cannot access the old computer where I store them because my brother, who lives in another city, owns it now...

Today was my last day at the project I had always worked on since I started working in Softtek more than three years ago.

Starting tomorrow, more challenges and different team-mates (and a drastically different team head-count, with only three of us, compared to 44+).

Canada.

I talked to Karla today. She is Carlos's house-mate in Canada. I knew her here, and thought she is nice (there is even a pic on my journal somewhere, from when we went to watch Kirikou).

Well, there is something I had to tell Carlos, and her cell phone is the only quick way to reach him. She was working, so we ended up talking.

Carlos's return date is approaching, but, apparently, he could ask for more time in Canada. She says he wants to return because I am here. He has convinced himself everything will be as it was before, thinking I just ended it because he was leaving, and only while he was gone.

I will have to talk to him before he returns, so he has a chance to stay there, if so he decides. He should not return here to something that is not there.

I always knew he was trying to blind himself to the truth, but did not want to really confront him to it while he was far away from most of his friends and support system. But if he is missing opportunities just because of that, it is better that I tell him now.

We will talk tomorrow night.

BTW, his birthday is next sunday (ouch).

Oh, and I just ordered really cheap PlayStation One games from Amazon (I had them on my sight since some time ago). They are Final Fantasy IX (have been wanting to play this one since last year, when I learned more about it; it seems like a game I would love), Final Fantasy VIII (Squall and Zell are so cute), and Chrono Cross (I saw my brother play it, and now I will be able to do it, as well). I also ordered Dragon Quest Swords, which I will play with Héctor. He will end up loving Dragon Quest or my name is not Roto.

Quickie.

On my birthday, I went to my parents'. I was very sleepy 'cause I had not slept well enough. I slept during the day and received a few friends in the night. Mafer and Alex, Jorge, Toño and Miriam visited. We stayed until 3:30 in the morning.

On saturday after my birthday, I went to pick up my comics. Talked a lot with Alpha and Claudio (as usual).

That night, Miriam and I went to a gay bar (Play). It is the first time I go to a gay bar in Torreon. There were very cute guys. One of them was the best, but he was there with his girlfriend, and I think they went with their gay friend. I found an old friend in the bar, too. I was happy to see him.

On monday, back in Aguascalientes, I was told I was being let go from the team (X_x).

It turns out they needed Java guys in other project, and I was chosen to go there. My last day in this project will be next friday, and I start on the new one on monday. I am going to miss you, guys (at least a little).

Last saturday I went out to a bar alone, and scored with a guy from La Chona, a town close to Aguascalientes (real town's name is Encarnación de Díaz, I believe). He lives in Gudalajara, but during weekends he goes back to his town and sometimes comes to Aguascalientes. He is taller than me, by the way.

I finally unlocked Silver Surfer on Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. I thought I would have to get bronze on all the simulations again, since I overwrote my old file, but it seems the game stores which simulations you have beaten, because I am still missing a few discs (I am about to start the Skrull world mission), but Norrin was unlocked as I defeated Mysterio on Iceman's disc (this had been really hard on my old play-through). I am happy now, because I have the whole roster. Norrin looks so cool, all shiny, and stuff. I will use a special team for the Skrull mission (not my usual Secret Wars theme for this game). I will use Thor, Silver Surfer, Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) and Doctor Strange. I will go all Cosmic on Galactus.

I will go to jazz dance class today, after skipping it for three consecutive days due to work (I missed two french classes, too).

Stupid credit card is full! Well, not full, since I just got a raise on my credit, but anyway, there are so many zeros in there!

And there is a reason (two, actually, but the second is only this month) why I cannot pay as much as I should be (as I wanted). Cannot really say, but once that situation is over, I should be able to pay normally. With lots of interests.

All my plans laid to waste...

Oh, and stupid electric bill was $2,500 this month! What the Hell? I barely use any! Oh, those are pesos, BTW.

Rock Band!

Tournament.

There was a Rock Band Tournament today at work. The prize being an X-Box 360 and a Rock Band set.

Since we all were notified just two measly days ago, we knew from the start what the outcome would be (close friends of the organizer are experts on that game), so we decided to participate just for the fun of it.

Mike Estrada told invited me, and told me we needed two more people. First, we told Óscar Valdez and Jonatan Ruiz-Esparza, but Jona said yesterday he could not be here at this time. So we asked Victor Martínez.

None of us had ever even touched the instruments or seen the game in action. Mike had played Guitar Hero, but that's it.

I was vocalist. Of all the available songs I only knew three, though. The Killers' When you were young, Radiohead's Creep and Jet's Are you gonna be my girl.

I love Creep, but it is also a very choteada song (meaning, everyone would likely choose that one). The problem with Jet's song is that it was harder compared to Creep. In the end (at least, yesterday), we went for Creep.

We wanted to rehearse, and found a place that rented the equipment. Mike had to take a friend of his home, and when we returned, it was already rented for all the evening.

With not even 1 minute of rehearsal (or one second, at that), the time arrived.

We heard one band singing Creep in a pre-tournament rehearse, and they were good. Then I told Mike that we were not gonna win, so we might as well go for a song no one else would choose. We went with Jet's, after all. We could be crazier that way.

Óscar was busy with work, so he could not go. Mike had to invite someone else at the last minute, and it was none other than Eduardo Campos!!! Now, this doesn't mean anything to you, but he is the manager of the whole local operation in Aguascalientes.

It was so cool (we must have been second-to-last), and it was so much fun. The audience had those little drums with two strings attached with a little ball at each's end, that you roll with your hands to make rhythm sounds.

Of course, the winners, for like 200,000 points' difference, were the organizer's friends (like there was any doubt about it).

Now I have to get busy and finish some work, because I've got a free day tomorrow, and I'm going to my parents' back in Torreón.

Yesterday I had dinner at KFC.

I like it there, and since I was not very hungry I just went to pick some Pop Corn Chicken (yummy).

There weren't a lot of people there, so the workers were kind of goofing around. There was this guy I've seen a couple of times before. He's kind of blondish, and he's thin. He has a cute face (some acne, but for some reason, I don't care in his case).

The cashier apparently selected something wrong, because he had to cancel it. He didn't know how and another guy helped him (making some fun at the fact he still couldn't do it on his own, but in good temper). Later, when I paid, there was not enough change, at least in pesos, because he went to the back asking who accepted dollars.

At that point, I was smiling, and cute guy was smiling beside me. I turned around to face him, he looked right at me and kept the smile. He was so cute. But of course, this didn't mean anything, 'cause we were both smiling because of his funny co-worker.

Since it would take some minutes for my food to be ready, I went to a table and resumed my paused game of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

After a while, I heard someone call the cute guy ("Güero", or "Blond"). He then brought me my food all the way to my table (n_n). Again, he looked directly at me (eye contact, that is), smiled, and wished me a good meal. Needless to say, I returned the smile.

When I finished, while I was taking care of the trash, he went closer to the exit, and then, when I was about to leave, he opened the door with me (with the respective look-into-the-eyes and smile). Even if I hadn't liked him from before, at this point he would have won me over.

As I walked out, I gave a couple of steps, and then I turned back to look at him (heheheheh). He turned back, as well, and smiled at me as I left.

I do not know if all of this means something. Perhaps he just is ultra amiable. But perhaps there is a chance there. I would definitely not mind that at all. Actually, I may change my routine so I can eat at KFC more often now.

Ah, so cute! I wanna see him again (n_n).

Coming picture!

Guess...

I am excited about a picture I am currently working on.

Inspiration came from a song by Darren Hayes (like almost always). I am not saying which. It is a somewhat dark one (but then again, a few of his solo songs are).

The character (or one of them) to be portrayed is Selene, the Hellfire's Club's Black Queen. I love the Hellfire Club, and I like Selene a lot, so it is strange I had not drawn her before (in a finished illustration, that is; I have doodles of her).

I had been working on the right idea for this picture. I knew it had to feature Selene, plus someone else. I did at least one sketch, but nothing convinced me.

Last week, I was listening to Darren Hayes's The Tension and the Spark album (there, now you can guess more easily) when, suddenly, this image formed in my head.

I don't want to be lazy on this, so I will work a background for the pic. It will be done with stock images, but I will try my best to integrate them to the illustration.

I want this to really feel dark. I hope I succeed.

It's been some time since I last got this hyper with a drawing. Perhaps having finished Marvel: Ultimate Alliance weeks ago finally gave me some time to dedicate to art (n_n).
