Ash-Rising Reality LJ Presents...

Forced March 2007, Housecleaning.

I dunno if you remember last year's Forced March event (I do).

Last year I had to make up for months of not drawing anything. Last boyfriend and Christmas vacations and all that, it took a lot of my free time, which I would otherwise have dedicated to my pics. For a whole year there were almost no new illustrations.

Forced March 2006 was an attempt to draw a lot of new pictures, so the gallery for that year would be more populated.

This year, the theme will be different.

There are a lot of unfinished pics on queue, and I decided it is time to remedy that. I will try to finish as many of them as I can during this month (why, there's one I started four years ago, or more).

Only pics I started before march 1st are elligible (sorry, Phil, once the queue is clear I'll have more time for your pics).

You can check all posts related to Forced March Housecleaning (and last year's, too) by looking up my "forced march" tagged posts.

Wish me luck. Next week the first pics should be up.

Ash-Rising Reality LJ Presented...

Forced March 2006.

Finally, it is over.

I may not have been able to reach my goal (check the last picture here), but I did have a good (although stressful) time.

Summary.

Here's a list of the eight pcitures that take part in this event:

That's all for this year.

Forced March. Day 5.

Age of Apocalypse revisited.

Back in 1995 AoA was cool. Marvel ruined that last year. But I prefer to remember the good old times.

Even though my favorite mutant ever didn't get much response last month, I decided to go on with this project.

Let's see if this bitch gets a warmer welcome than my beloved Doug Adler.

Six down, two to go.

Inferno (or my Savage Garden Project).

Crash and burn. Sometimes this song is a little slow for me, but still I like it.

At first I thought of using Peter and MJ for this song, but somehow it never seemed that cool. Then, one day (at work), this image came to my mind.

I remember Alex trying to protect Maddie at all costs, feeling (with good reason) that she was a victim. Of course, Maddie then clouded Alex's judgement and manipulated him, but still this is kind of romantic.

Seven down, one to go.

Prueba no superada.

¡Puta madre, no acabé!

I couldn't reach my goal for this month. My maxi-self-request could not be finished on time.

This is all I could get done.

El confesionario.

Perhaps if I hadn't gone out so much the week before last, or stayed at work so late so much (not my fault), I could have made it.

I admit some pics, especially the last ones, were rushed, and it shows. But it was fun to do this, and the gallery grew up nicely.

I might try it again next year.

For now, all I want to do is rest a little...

Forced March. Day 4.

Maxi-self-request number 4.

Fourth pic featuring my chosen character. Tradition mandates that I let him present it.

Thursday: Welcoming committee. The new girl's been flirting with me since the day she arrived. I guess it's time for me to let her get closer.

Five down, three to go.

El confesionario.

Not much to say. I still have to finish three pics (one of which is not even pencilled yet).

I fear I'm not going to make it...

And to top it all, today is Desperate Housewives day. And the premiere of 8th & Ocean.

Forced March. Day 3.

Maxi-self-request number 3.

Third pic featuring my chosen character. Once more, I'll let him present it.

Wednesday: Inter-squad team-up. Gotta admit it, this guy and I make a terrific team! Rumor has it he's a personal friend of the Dazzler herself, but he says nothing about it.

Four down, four to go.

El confesionario.

Last night I couldn't work on any picture... I had half a month to do this, so naturally I left it all until the last minute. The stress starts growing now (X_x).

At least I had a good time at my party.

Forced March. Day 2.

Maxi-self-request number 2.

Second pic featuring my chosen character. Again, I'll let him present it.

Tuesday: Photo session for art class. The asian chick seems pretty comfortable with this; and is she hot or what? Imagine the music we could make together!

Two down, six to go.

Special birthday request!

I've neglected my love for Dragon Quest for too long. I felt it would be cool to treat myself to a piece of classic DQ fanart. And nothing is more classic than Dragon Quest II (except, perhaps, the original Dragon Quest).

Here they are, the descendants of the Legendary Hero, in a deathfight against the God of Destruction.

Three down, five to go.

El confesionario.

Evacuation drill today at work. I work at the 15th floor. It's good exercise, but now I smell (T_T)...

Yesterday was the worst at work... Sickness plus stupid JAR files that behave nothing like they should are guaranteed to produce headaches!

Today I'll have a birthday mini-party at El Cuarto de Arriba.

Forced March. Day 1.

Maxi-self-request number 1.

Next month I may start taking requests again (or at least, I have two birthday presents in my to-do list for april), but this month I took a request from myself.

I picked one of my favorite characters for this request, so I'll let him present this pic...

Monday: Swimming competition. And I thought today would be boring! This new girl's definitely something. By the end of the week she'll be something for me.

One down, seven to go.

El confesionario.

This weekend was the worst.

I felt like dying on saturday night. That's what this stupid illness of mine will do to people.

I also felt bad for other reasons. Even though I know I am not, I felt utterly alone that night.

Being a weekend, some friends were out of the city. And had I needed assistance, I know I could have asked anyone and they'd been there for me, but since all I wanted was for someone to be there, my options were limited.

I called Moro. He didn't comply. I think his being there that night would have given him a lot of good points. As it is, I already had a good reason not to have something with him, so he just made it less likely.

I felt better the next day, but still I did have a lot of negative thoughts that night that can't simply go away that easily.

No reality está completo sin un confesionario.

Ash-Rising Reality LJ Presents...

Forced March 2006 (AKA Rush Hour).

Two special projects, an ongoing series and a special one-shot in an event like no other before.

Will I be able to make it all in time for the end of the month?

Coming soon...

I can't wait for this (to be over).
